Foreigner

Hat from Shibuya, Dangerfield denim jacket, PulpKitchen jeans, Tredair lace-ups

Holidays have finally arrived at my feet and I am so thrilled for the freedom to create and explore. For 10 weeks I have been bounded by an awful uniform, mandatory for placement. I came to a realization that if I was to work in that corporation, I would have to wear a uniform every day at work. Daunting as it sounds, my heart fell rock bottom. Every morning I looked forward to the magical process of choosing what to wear each day. It was a way in which I was able to build a character and impersonate who I wanted to be. So I’m standing right in front of my wardrobe (having completed 10 weeks of placement), the whole concept of choosing something to wear for myself had become so foreign.

Running With The Wolves

Hat from Shibuya, Uniqlo turtleneck, Witchery blazer, Floresheim dress shoes

I’ve been called ‘stupid’ for wanting to follow my dreams. Sometimes I forget what life is about. We grow up learning that we must be defined by numbers and figures, the ‘matters of consequences’.  I miss the innocence of being a child, where you can just follow your emotions. You know when you become empowered and it brings fleeting chills and tears because you’ve found something so electrifying, so polarising. It’s so beautiful to see people live out their dreams and passions, and it brings much inspiration to continue to do what I love.

As for the outfit, I’m liking the ‘over-the-shoulder’ blazer look as it just elevates a mundane tone to sophistication. Try it or disregard it, it’s up to you.

We Will See

Hat from Shibuya, Uniqlo turtleneck, thrifted cable knit, Monki culottes, Windsor Smith sandals

Today I felt flaccid. My impatience had grown with this waiting game. All I wanted was to spend some time with a special someone. Plans withered, but gave life to this spontaneous shoot. Culottes and chunky cable knits is one of the latest and my most favourite pairing for the winter season. It’s stimulating when exploring different silhouettes that are out of your comfort zone, wide leg pants being one of them. My appreciation for culottes had stem from Proenza Schouler’s Spring RTW 2014 collection and I’ve wanted to style them since then. Some people may think culottes are repulsive to the human form, but I think there are here to stay.
